This state comes about almost spontaneously, at least to the passengers. One minute you are sitting next to your quiet friend Stereotypical Carl, the straight-A geek from Science class, suddenly somebody cuts in front of him and he's hurling words that would make even Sailors blush, pressing down so hard on the horn it takes a minute for it to pop back out. In truth, it has been building up. You just failed to notice.
Next thing you know, the victim of this Road Rage pulls over and... suffice to say Stereotypical Carl will be in the hospital for the next week or so recovering.
I believe road rage is caused in part by stress, mostly by temporary insanity. People just snap. Apparently, there is a site dedicated to selling placards with slogans on them for that fateful day when a driver decides to cut in front of you. Some of them are quite funny. Road Rage itself is not funny. It places the participant in an unsafe situation which can quickly escalate.
Drive safely! Leave home early to account for traffic and keep your eyes firmly on the road. Be careful of Road Ragers and their rages.
Thank you and stay safe.
